Are you the carrot, egg, or coffee?

A Life Lesson...

A young woman was complaining to her father about how difficult her life had become.

He said nothing but took her to the kitchen and set 3 pans of water to boiling. To the first pan he added carrots; to the second, eggs; and to the third, ground coffee.

After all 3 had cooked, he put their contents into separate bowls and asked his daughter to cut into the eggs and carrots and smell the coffee. "What does this all mean?" she asked impatiently.

"Each food," he said, "teaches us something about facing adversity, as represented by the boiling water." The carrot went in hard, but came out soft and weak. The eggs went in fragile but came out hardened. The coffee, however, changed the water to something better. "Which will you be like as you face life?" he asked.

So I ask you, will you give up, become hard, or transform adversity into triumph? You are the chef of your life, what will you bring to the table?

Shredding parties to build business

Purse parties, jeans parties, and cash for gold parties have become very popular with women. But have you ever been to a shredding party?

Shredding parties are the new marketing tactic for small businesses. The constant challenge of creative, neighborhood marketing and the increasing threat of identity theft and fraud have made this a popular event. Document shredding "parties" have become an excellent way for entrepreneurs to assist the community, build their reputations and protect important information.

Local Better Business Bureaus are even starting to recognize shredding events and will recruit various companies as sponsors. Insurance agencies, notary publics, neighborhood associations and local government agencies have held these events across the country.

Any business or person can host their own shredding party; try partnering with a local document shredding company. Network with others and safely dispose of documents containing sensitive information like signatures, account numbers, and Social Security numbers. This will ensure their customer privacy and make sure they remember the name of the hosting business in a positive light.
